May Festival

New look website and active on social media (feel free to like my page on facebook and follow me on Instagram through the links...) all in time for good old Brighton May Festival! This year I'm showing in two venues, Naked Eye Gallery and Artymag's Alison and Torben's house, 12 Kemp St, Brighton.

Artymag Private View

I won't be able to attend the Private View at Naked Eye on Friday 1st of May but will be there for Artymag's Private View on Saturday 9th May, 5 - 8pm. If you fancy coming along to join me please either get in touch with me or RSVP info@artymagazines.com
Along with my original drawings and some photopolymer etchings the Art in Brighton 2015 book will also be on sale...

I Feel Love

At long last I've had a print made of a mirrorball drawing...

The talented artist Richard Denne produced the print from my original graphite drawing using his perfected photo polymer etching process and I'm very happy with the end result. We've gone for a small edition of 50 prints and a small format - the actual image is 15 x 15cm - and at the moment it will be sold through Ink-d , Naked Eye and Dowse.

Long time...

It has been a long time since I last added any news, mainly because I wasn't sure which direction to take my work. I'd reached a point where I felt as though I was stuck in a loop and repeating myself - not a particularly productive place to be! I've managed to break away from that place by simply opening my eyes again to what is around me and appreciating what I see as being worthy subject matter. I'm focussing on architectural detail and the often overlooked decorative elements adorning seafront furniture such as the lights and railings. Not sure where it'll take me but at least it has freed me up for the time being...

Derwent Commission

I was asked by Derwent to create another piece to be included on their website in the near future and yes, your eyes do not deceive, there is some colour involved! The brief was to use the range of XL graphite blocks and that meant I had to step out of my comfort zone and play with the non-grey blocks..
